Okay, here’s the gist...

After some introspection and examination of the effects of living relatively uninformed existences, the members of our staff have come to some conclusions. As long as a considerable part of the world population remains, as we were, unthinking in a critical sense and shallow in a philosophical and political sense, people will continue to be easily swayed or disenchanted by government and frustrated by the economic realities of life and the world around them.

As populations grow and the nations of the globe become more dependant upon each other, any uninformed and especially, misinformed populations will become a more challenging societal and political force to deal with and there will be no room for emotional, unwarranted blame games that some leaders and individuals employ to stir things up. This sort of rhetoric has already caused major misconceptions of people and groups and has caused many of us to become more cynical and much less civil towards each other.

Some politicians and other agents of influence are quite adept and make it their business to feed on the emotion and ignorance of a malleable, unenlightened public. Unfortunately it's a very lucrative business and it's very unfortunate that we allow it to be all too easy for them. If people had just a little more understanding of basic principles and critical thinking became second nature en masse, then the less these emotional baggage handlers would be able to harness peoples feelings and misconceptions as a political weapon.

A solid understanding of some simple key principles combined with practicality is the best way to handle important debates that are typically wrought with emotion, scapegoating and finger pointing. Therefore Civil Communications will be launching several web sites to help foster critical thought and other methods in order to combat some of the thoughtless negativity we see in debate today.

Civil Communications will also be stressing that it’s not only ok, but highly imperative to argue about difficult issues with your friends, family and co workers as long as it’s done in a civil, cooperative manner. If we continue to live by the thought process of that you should never talk about politics or religion then we will never come to a deep enough understanding of what makes us tick as a society, a race and a civilization. It is ridiculous to think a government of and by the people can run properly without proper input from said people. If we expect to have rule by the people... then we better know what we are talking about and start to talk about it and then get involved!

Civil Communications will try to help make that happen,
